Kiltix is a medicated collar that treats and controls kirputjaticks on dogs. These external parasites not cause irritation to your dog, but can carry and transmit diseases. Paralysis ticks are particularly dangerous as the toxins released while feeding on your dog can cause paralysis and even death.
Kiltix is effective against fleas for 5 months, against brown dog ticks (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) and bush ticks (Haemaphysalislongicornis) for up to 5 months and against paralysis ticks (Ixodes holocyclus) for up to 6 weeks.

How effective is Kiltix (Flumethrin, Propoxur)?
The Kiltix collar will begin to kill fleas immediately upon placing around the dog’s neck and will continue to be effective for 5 months. The collar will control brown dog ticks and bush ticks, and provide a high level of control (but not full protection) against paralysis ticks. Daily searching of your dog and removal of ticks is recommended. For dogs with thick double coats, tick protection may take up to 1 week to be effective.
Although the collar resists the effect of water, it is recommended to remove the collar for swimming and bathing to retain maximum effectiveness.
As environmental conditions vary, it may be necessary to replace the collar more frequently.
